The Telescope in Arecibo is known for it's grand size: the Diameter of the main antennas are 305 meters, constructed in the middle of a depression, this is the biggest antenna in the world, it has a great capacity for receiving electromagnetic waves. This telescope can observer any region of the sky, the position of Puerto Rico near the Ecuator allows the telescope to see all of the planets of the solar system This telescope was also used for military purposes, example to locate soviet installations.
